Frequently Asked Questions

How much will my remodel cost?

Every project is different, so we provide a detailed written estimate before any work begins. Your estimate will clearly outline labor, materials, and any allowances for finishes. Items like permits, design fees, and debris removal are itemized separately so there are no surprises. We also recommend budgeting an additional 10–20% as a contingency for unforeseen issues that can arise once work is underway.

How long will the project take?

Timelines vary based on the scope of work, but we'll give you a realistic schedule before we start and keep you updated throughout. Factors like material lead times, permit approval, weather, and the complexity of the job can all affect the timeline. We communicate proactively if anything comes up that could cause delays, so you always know what to expect.

Can I stay in my home during the remodel?

In most cases, yes — especially for single-room projects like kitchens or bathrooms. For larger renovations or whole-home remodels, we'll talk with you about what to expect and help you plan around the disruption. We'll always let you know in advance which areas will be affected and when.

Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

Yes. We're fully licensed, bonded, and insured, and we're happy to provide documentation upon request. We also carry workers' compensation coverage, and any subcontractors we bring in are vetted, licensed, and insured as well.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

Yes. We manage the entire permitting process, from submitting applications to coordinating required inspections. This ensures your project meets local building codes and helps avoid issues with future resale or insurance claims.

What happens if you find an unexpected problem once work begins?

Older homes especially can reveal surprises once walls or floors are opened up — things like water damage, outdated wiring, or structural issues. If we discover something like this, we'll stop, explain the issue, and walk you through your options and any cost impact before moving forward. We never proceed with significant unplanned work without your approval.

Can I supply my own materials or fixtures?

Absolutely. If you'd like to source your own tile, fixtures, or appliances, we're happy to work with them. We'll let you know of any specifications needed (like dimensions or rough-in requirements) so everything integrates smoothly with the rest of the project.

What warranty do you offer?

We stand behind our work with a labor warranty, and all materials carry their manufacturer warranties. Details are outlined in your contract, and we're always just a call away if an issue comes up after the project is complete.

Will this remodel increase my home's value?

Many remodels — particularly kitchens, bathrooms, and additional living space — offer strong returns on investment, though the exact impact depends on your local market and the scope of work. We're happy to share insights on which upgrades tend to add the most resale value if that's a priority for your project.

Who will I be working with throughout the project?

You'll have a dedicated point of contact from start to finish, so you're never left wondering who to call with a question. They'll coordinate our team and any subcontractors, keep you updated on progress, and manage any change orders that come up along the way.
